About Powweb
Powweb has been around since 1999 and people have had mixed reviews on their services. The thing with Powweb is that they are newer then other higher quality hosting companies and that puts them in danger when potential clients look for reliable uptime and service. I must say the customer service is pretty reliable and the uptime of the servers is so so. If you decide to start off with a hosting company then going with Powweb wouldn’t be the worst choice you could make when choosing a host. You will experience occasional downtime but you will get answers to your questions fairly quickly. Some people have had problems with the support but I have not, so can’t really say anything bad about it.
Plans and Features
Powweb believes in a one plan start up package that includes everything you need to host your website. At $3.88 a month on a 12 Month Plan you will get Unlimited space and Unlimited Bandwidth, speedy servers, a members operations control panel, custom error pages including 403, 404 and 500 errors, script installers including wordpress, phpBB, os Commerce, and PHP Nuke and much more. Powweb also throws in a "Free Domain"and $75 in Yahoo & Google Adwords Credits. All this for a total yearly cost of $46.56.
Powweb Reliability
A decent hosting company at best, you will get what you pay for. Some hosting companies give you a bit more space, but some might not have the server reliability that Powweb has for its price. With occasional downtime, servers will be fixed ASAP and you can rest assured that your website will normally receive the proper care it deserves from Powwebs staff. At most we are talking a day of downtime, but this is in severe cases.
Conclusion
All in all if you are new to hosting and want basic features and a decent CPanel then Powweb might be right for you. Sometimes you come across a host that gives you a great first impression and you might not know better, this is the case with Powweb. If you are reading this hosting review for the first time, then you may go with this hosting company. I wouldn’t recommend them for long term hosting however, if you decide to create a large website then choosing a better host might be a better route.
